Religious affairs chief calls for full compliance with Hajj permit rules to ensure safe pilgrimage

  • Move aligns with Islamic law, serves pilgrims’ interests

MAKKAH: Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, has emphasized the importance of obtaining a Hajj permit and complying with the regulations governing Hajj.

He said the principle of “no Hajj without a permit” aligned with Islamic law and served pilgrims’ interests by protecting lives and preventing harm and disorder, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

Al-Sudais called on all prospective pilgrims to fully comply with the instructions of the relevant authorities and cooperate with efforts to serve them and facilitate the performance of rituals with the highest standards of organization and care.

Meanwhile, Makkah’s Deputy Gov. Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz has received in Jeddah the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, along with senior ministry officials.

Prince Saud affirmed that leadership directives focus on mobilizing all resources to enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and reassurance.

He was briefed on the ministry’s plans and preparations for the Hajj season, as well as the readiness of facilities in the holy sites to receive pilgrims.

Prince Saud also reviewed the digital services ecosystem supporting the Hajj journey, along with logistics and infrastructure development efforts to enhance services for pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque.

The bus guidance center for transporting pilgrims from abroad, in cooperation with the Institute of Research, Studies and Consulting Services at Umm Al-Qura University, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has launched a training program for guides and administrators.

The program aims to qualify 1,500 participants through more than 7,500 training hours, equipping them with the skills needed to deliver high-quality services to pilgrims.

It supports the institute’s role in developing human resources and enhancing crowd management during the Hajj and Umrah seasons through structured training programs that build staff competencies and improve service quality for pilgrims.
