Iran targets Jordan with missile, 3 drones, army says

LONDON: Iran targeted Jordanian territory with three drones and one missile in the past 24 hours, the Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Monday.

The Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted two of the drones; however, air defenses were unable to intercept the third drone and a missile, according to the Petra news agency.

The attacks caused two moderate injuries and material damage. One person was hospitalized, while the other received first aid at the scene and was in good condition. Jordanian security forces have responded to nine reports of suspicious objects or shrapnel.

The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Feb. 28. In response, Iran has launched strikes across the region, including Jordan. At least 240 missiles and drones have targeted Jordan since the war began, most of which were intercepted.

Officials advised the public to avoid gathering near, handling, or tampering with any unidentified objects or debris due to potential hazards, Petra added.
