RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed food baskets in the Guirrari area of Tadjourah governorate in Djibouti, benefiting 300 individuals, as part of phase 5 of the “Etaam Food Basket” project in the country.
This comes as part of Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts to support the most vulnerable families worldwide and enhance food security.
In January, the Saudi aid agency launched a plan for humanitarian and relief operations during a ceremony that also honored its major donors and partners.
During the event, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor general of KSrelief, highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to deliver humanitarian relief on a global scale and thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support.
“The results could be seen in the UN Financial Tracking Service rankings,” he said, where the Kingdom is placed second globally and first in the Arab world among donor countries providing humanitarian aid in 2025.
Outlining the organization’s plans for 2026, Al-Rabeeah said the first goal was to advance operational and human projects, including 113 projects across 44 countries in partnership with 11 Saudi non-profit organizations. This is expected to benefit more than 12 million people at a cost of SR400 million.
