  • He said Jordan is prepared to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens

LONDON: King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces on Sunday to assess the readiness of the various military branches.

The Jordanian king is the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army. He affirmed that Jordan is secure and will remain so, thanks to the efforts of the armed forces and security agencies that protect the country’s skies and borders, according to Petra.

He said that Jordan is fully prepared to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.

During a meeting with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, in the presence of Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah praised the forces’ efforts in countering threats that undermine the country’s sovereignty.

Jordan was one of several countries to be targeted by Iranian missiles and drones as Tehran retaliated against US and Israeli military actions that have pounded the country’s military and infrastructure capabilities since last week.
