RIYADH: The Sudanese community in Jeddah marks Ramadan in ways and traditions that distinguish it from other areas.
Families and neighbors gather round a shared table, reflecting strong bonds and togetherness during the holy month. During Ramadan, residents work to reinforce their customs through social closeness which extends across their wider community.
Ahmed Bashir said he and other Sudanese people in Saudi Arabia felt a deep affection for the Kingdom and had a genuine sense of belonging. This, he said, is due to the security, safety and stability they enjoy, as well as the country’s generosity towards residents from all communities.
Fellow resident Mohammed Hussein expressed his thanks for the services provided by the Kingdom to those of other nationalities, saying it provided an affectionate atmosphere and a supportive, stable environment.
