RIYADH: The King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh will launch an exhibition on horses and equestrianism next Tuesday in celebration of Founding Day.
The exhibition will be held at the library’s Khurais Road branch and run until the end of August, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
It features an extensive collection from the library’s holdings on horses and equestrianism, including manuscripts, photographs, documents, Islamic miniatures, and illustrated books.
Since its establishment 40 years ago, the library has been dedicated to preserving this rich heritage, the SPA stated.
It has also established a specialized center for equestrianism, housing over 12,000 items, including some of the most prominent and rare Arabic and international books on horses.
The exhibition additionally showcases a collection of rare photographs of horses taken by Princess Alice of Britain during her visit to Saudi Arabia in 1938.
