RIYADH: The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged the public to exercise caution, remain in safe locations, and avoid valleys and areas prone to flash floods — in instructions disseminated across media platforms — in light of expected thunderstorms from Saturday to Thursday.
The directorate has provided a regional breakdown and expects moderate to heavy rainfall in the Makkah region, which could lead to flash floods, hail, and dust storms. Moderate rainfall is expected in the Riyadh region.
Tabuk, Madinah, Jouf, the Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, the Eastern Region, and Al-Baha will also be hit by moderate to heavy rainfall.
Moderate rainfall is expected in the Asir and Jazan regions.
