RIYADH: The Saudi Falcons Club Auction concluded its 2025 edition at the club’s headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, recording total sales of more than SR6.4 million ($1.7 million) across two months.
The auction had become a key event for falconers worldwide, attracting sellers and buyers of elite local and international breeding stock, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
A total of 40 falcons were sold during the auction, which ran from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, featuring 26 nights of bidding marked by strong competition and notable excitement among falconry enthusiasts.
The Saudi Falcons Club supported falconers from the Kingdom and abroad by providing transportation, accommodation and official sales documentation.
The auction was also broadcast live on television and social media, expanding its reach and highlighting falconry’s cultural and economic significance.
It played a key role in preserving the Kingdom’s cultural heritage, promoting falconry among new generations and generating economic value for participants.
These efforts reflect the club’s broader mission to safeguard falconry and strengthen its place in Saudi society, the SPA added.
The auction also helped local farms adopt international best practices and contributed to Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a global falconry hub.
