ANKARA: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that “Sudanese brothers” wanted Turkiye involved in efforts to achieve peace in the country and the ongoing war, adding that Ankara would do its utmost to end the conflict.
The conflict erupted in 2023 amid a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF, whose recent takeover of Al-Fashir, one of Sudan’s largest cities, has raised concerns about mass killings.
Turkiye backs Sudan’s government and has called for an end to the war.
