RIYADH: The Riyadh Season Snooker Championship 2025 continued on Thursday at the Global Theater in Boulevard City, with a large crowd following matchups that brought together some of the world’s top snooker stars at the quarterfinal stage of the event.

The second day opened with a commanding performance by Australian player Neil Robertson against Britain’s Kyren Wilson, Robertson taking full control of the match to claim a 4–0 victory. He delivered a strong attacking display, highlighted by breaks of 144 and 108, along with three additional 50+ breaks, underscoring his readiness to compete for the title.

The second match featured a high-intensity encounter between Scotland’s John Higgins and Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen. Both players showcased a closely contested battle, but Allen ultimately secured a 4–2 win with a series of impressive frames, scoring 72, 67, 65 and 67 to advance confidently to the semifinals.

In the third match, Britain’s Judd Trump delivered a standout performance against Welsh star Mark Williams, earning a 4–0 victory. Trump opened strongly with breaks of 61 and 69, before closing the match in commanding fashion by posting back-to-back century breaks of 100 and 102, securing his place in the semis.

The day concluded with a thrilling match between China’s Zhao Xintong and Britain’s Shaun Murphy, which extended across six competitive frames. Zhao claimed a 4-2 victory after an impressive display featuring high-scoring runs of 74, 69, 78 and 88, while Murphy produced notable breaks of 101 and 79 in a match that drew strong engagement from the crowd.

The championship continues on Friday with anticipation building ahead of the semifinal and final rounds, alongside close attention to the innovative Golden Ball, which offers 20 bonus points and a $1 million prize for any player who achieves the maximum score of 167.
