RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji on Monday received Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Shahin Abdullayev who was bidding farewell at the end of his tenure.
During their meeting in Riyadh, Elkhereiji praised the ambassador’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and wished him continued success.
On Sunday, Elkhereiji attended the Tolerance Forum in Riyadh, organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication for the International Day for Tolerance.
He said celebrating the day reflects the global commitment to dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence and noted the harm intolerance and hate speech cause to international peace.
Elkhereiji added that while conflicts based on religion, ethnicity, or nationality are local, resolving them requires international support, emphasizing the UN’s role in promoting dialogue and understanding to prevent violence and achieve sustainable peace.
