RIYADH: King Saud University, in collaboration with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, is set to train 200 teachers in the governorates of Aden, Hadhramaut and Taiz.
The year-long project is being funded by the SDRPY and Hayel Saeed Anam Group, and will be implemented by the university’s King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, and the Humanitarian Development Program, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
The initiative aims to equip teachers with essential skills and award internationally-recognized certificates, boost student outcomes, and create employment opportunities in the region.
The program also introduces a professional development model endorsed by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
This initiative is a part of the SDRPY’s broader efforts to support education and development in Yemen, alongside projects in vital sectors including health, water, energy and transportation.
The signing ceremony, held at the SDRPY’s headquarters in Riyadh, was attended by officials from the parties, including Yemen’s Education Minister Tareq Al-Akbari, and the SDRPY’s General Supervisor Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber.
