Prince Sultan Arabian horse festival crowns Equator as finest stallion

RIYADH: The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival concluded in Riyadh on Saturday, with Al-Rajihiyat Stud’s Equator winning the gold medal for the finest stallion after intense global competition.

Prince Khaled bin Sultan, along with royal dignitaries, ambassadors, and horse enthusiasts, attended the event’s final day, sponsored by the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud Foundation.

The highly competitive atmosphere marked the event, which featured the world’s top Arabian horse beauty show.

Prince Fahd bin Khalid bin Sultan, the festival’s supervisor, confirmed the unwavering support of King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Prince Khalid bin Sultan for purebred Arabian horses.

He congratulated Ajmal Stud on winning the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Cup for Arabian Horse Racing, acknowledging the competition’s intensity and challenges due to the high standards of participating horses.

RQ Lamees from Arqa Stud won the gold medal in Yearling Fillies, and Ashqar Akmal from Akmal Stud secured the gold in Yearling Colts.

In the 2–3 years category, Shahbareez HVB (Ajmal Stud) and Hamed Sarem (Sarem Stud) clinched gold in Fillies and Colts, respectively.

The Mares competition saw Ana Masi (Al-Khashab Stud) and Equator (Al-Rajihiyat Stud) earning gold medals.

Saudi-bred horses Zeenat ‘Adhbah, owned by Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Mahajir ‘Adhbah from Sama Najd Stud, claimed gold in Fillies and Colts Championships.

Manarah ‘Adhbah, owned by Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, won the Mares Championship, while Layth Dirab from Al-Arid Stud took the gold in Stallions Championship.

WASHINGTON: Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman arrived in Washington on Thursday on an official visit, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During his visit, Prince Khalid will discuss US-Saudi ties and ways to strengthen them as well as to address topics of and issues of mutual intertest, SPA added.
