JEDDAH: The first Agricultural Marketing Festival will begin on Sunday in Jeddah under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, the city’s governor.
The three-day event enables local farmers, producers, beekeepers and families to market agricultural products.
With a diverse display of produce, from fresh vegetables and fruits to dates and honey, the festival highlights the region’s agricultural richness.
Visitors can also discover aromatic coffee, roses and jasmine.
The festival also offers a range of activities to engage and educate attendees. Specialized workshops geared toward the development of agricultural producers will be hosted, providing valuable insights and skills.
Scientific lectures tailored for specialists and those with an interest in the agricultural sector will also be a part of the event.
The festival also welcomes families, hosting an art gallery and activities for children.
Majed bin Abdullah Al-Khalif, director general of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in the Makkah region, praised the event as a “vibrant and collaborative effort.”
He added that the festival is organized under the supervision of the ministry’s office in Jeddah, with both governmental and private entities taking part.
“More than 60 farmers, beekeepers, and productive families are contributing to making this festival a vibrant and collaborative effort,” he said.
Al-Khalif added that the festival helps farmers establish marketing channels for their products in the province and beyond.
He invited Jeddah residents to visit the festival, explore the array of products on display and take advantage of special offers.
Al-Khalif also praised the Jeddah governor’s commitment to the development of the agricultural sector.
