Imaan Hammam shares December highlights, dines with Mustafa ahead of charity concert

DUBAI: Moroccan Egyptian Dutch model Imaan Hammam shared a carousel of highlights from December on Instagram, including her international trips and a photo of her time in Amsterdam. She also dined with Sudanese Canadian poet Mustafa Ahmed, formerly known as Mustafa the Poet, this weekend, ahead of the charity concert he is organizing for Gaza and Sudan on Jan. 4.

The creative talent, who goes by the stage name Mustafa, shared a short video of the pair sitting at a restaurant on Instagram Stories, prompting online speculation that Hammam — who has been vocal about the conflict on social media — will attend the concert slated to take place in New Jersey.

British rapper and songwriter Stormzy joined a long list of stars who will perform at the benefit concert.

All the proceeds will go to Human Concern International, an NGO that provides humanitarian aid to Gaza and Sudan.

Stormzy will be joined by US performers Clairo, Faye Webster, Omar Apollo, Nick Hakim, 070Shake and 6lack. Also in attendance will be Canadian music sensations Charlotte Day Wilson and Daniel Caesar, Palestinian writer and poet Mohammed El-Kurd, Mustafa, and US-Egyptian comedian Ramy Youssef.

“We worked tirelessly to bring this to you, but our fatigue is not even a splinter of what we’ll be singing for,” Mustafa wrote on Instagram. “In the last few years I visited both my homeland, Sudan and Palestine. My visit to both had a principal intention, to connect with artist communities, with young organizers — for parallels of sorrow and hope and faith.”

“The violence in both nations seized the dream,” he added. “Here it is revived for me in some way. The intention remains, on this evening we give our voices to make room for theirs. I want to thank each artist performing from the deepest part of me, for your time and effort. None of you hesitated when asked. We’ll remember.”

Mustafa has written songs for The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.

Hammam, who was born to a Moroccan mother and an Egyptian father in the Netherlands, is an ambassador for the She’s The First organization that helps empower young women through education around the world. She is also a runway mainstay and has appeared on the catwalk for major fashion houses such as Burberry, Fendi, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Balenciaga and Carolina Herrera. The model has also starred in international campaigns for DKNY, Celine, Chanel, Versace, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, and Tiffany & Co and more.

What to expect at the AlUla Arts Festival 2026

DUBAI: The AlUla Arts Festival returns for its fifth anniversary edition from Jan. 16 to Feb. 14, 2026, bringing a month-long program of contemporary art, design, performance and immersive experiences to Saudi Arabia’s oasis city.

A major highlight is the fourth Desert X AlUla show from Jan. 16 to Feb. 28. The open-air exhibition will feature 10 newly commissioned, site-specific works by Saudi Arabia and international artists.

Curated around the theme “Space Without Measure,” and inspired by the poetry of Kahlil Gibran, the artworks will be embedded across AlUla’s landscape, exploring imagination, scale and humanity’s relationship with place. This year, it is curated by Neville Wakefield and Raneem Farsi.

The festival will also present an exhibition from the pre-opening program of AlUla’s forthcoming contemporary art museum, developed in collaboration with Centre Pompidou and AFALULA.

Titled “Arduna” (meaning “Our Land”), the exhibition opens on Feb. 1 and will showcase more than 80 artworks from Saudi Arabia and beyond, including pieces from the Royal Commission for AlUla collection and the Musee National d’Art Moderne, with works by artists including Kandinsky and Picasso.

Design takes center stage with the festival’s largest program yet, led by the AlUla Design Exhibition at Design Space AlUla. The showcase highlights outcomes from the AlUla Artists Residency Program and AlUla Design Award, alongside retail collections developed with local artisans.

The AlUla Music Hub from Nov. 1 to Jan. 31 will present a series of concerts featuring Arabic, fusion, vocal and jazz performances, while the ATHR Gallery will exhibit works by Saudi contemporary artist Sara Abdu.

The open-air Cinema Al-Jadidah will present a special series of art-themed documentaries, shorts and feature films.

Visitors can also expect live music, immersive performances, film screenings, workshops and public art installations across the Al-Jadidah Arts District, Villa Hegra and Wadi Al-Fann.
