OIC holds briefing session on preparations for trade fair in Lahore in June

  • This will be the 18th annual OIC trade fair, the 17th edition of the event was held in Dakar, Senegal, in June last year
  • OICS thanks Islamic Center for the Development of Trade for its “knowledge, expertise and resources” to organize Lahore Fair

ISLAMABAD: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the OIC on Monday held a briefing session on preparations for the upcoming OIC Trade Fair to be held in the central Pakistani city of Lahore on June 16-18.

This will be the 18th OIC trade fair, with the 17th edition of the event held in Dakar, Senegal, in June last year.

Addressing the session, Dr. Ahmad Sengendo, assistant secretary general of the OIC, thanked the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT), OIC’s subsidiary organ and main partner of relevant authorities in Pakistan, for its “knowledge, expertise and resources towards the organization of Lahore Fair.”

“Fawed Sher, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the OIC informed the participants that all is set for the holding of the Trade Fair and encouraged Member States to encourage concerned public and private sectors stakeholders to participate actively in the Trade Fair,” the OIC said in a statement on its website.

“The ICDT also gave an elaborate brief on the arrangements being made for the success of the Trade Fair and Expo.”
