Over 39 tons of food baskets distributed in Lebanon

RIYADH: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed 39 tons of food baskets to Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as needy families in Akkar governorate in Lebanon. This distribution is part of a larger project aimed at supporting food security in Lebanon throughout 2023.
The center also distributed 56 tons of food baskets in Borno, Nigeria, benefiting 5,736 people as part of the 2023 feeding basket project in Nigeria.
Meanwhile in Yemen, mobile nutrition clinics, an initiative launched by the center, have continued their treatment services in the Yemeni district of Al-Khawkhah.
In late March, the clinics received 4,217 patients with various health conditions and provided them with necessary medical services. The clinics also provided 3,266 individuals with medications.
The center also continued implementing the water supply and environmental sanitation project in the directorates of Midi, Hiran, Haradh, and Abs, and Al-Azhur camp in the directorate of Razih.
Also, about 8,104,000 liters of usable water and 666,000 liters of potable water were pumped in Hajjah, in addition to carrying out 52 waste removal operations in the camps.
In Saada governorate on Yemen, 70,000 liters of potable water, and 70,000 liters of usable water were also pumped, benefiting 30,100 people.

Syrian foreign minister congratulates Saudi counterpart on Founding Day

RIYADH: Syria’s foreign minister, Asaad Al-Shaibani, on Monday congratulated his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on Founding Day, which this year marked the 299th anniversary of the establishment of the First Saudi State.

During their telephone conversation the ministers also discussed the latest developments in Syria and the wider region, along with ways in which they might strengthen bilateral relations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and highlighted the need for regional stability and security, the Syrian Arab News Agency said.

Founding Day, which was introduced in 2022, is celebrated each year on Feb. 22 and marks the founding of the First Saudi State in 1727.
