New Dubai-based Arabic reality TV show is coming to Netflix

  • ‘Dubai Bling’ will premiere on Netflix on Oct. 27
  • It will include well-known faces from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait and Iraq

LONDON: Netflix announced on Thursday the release of a new Arabic reality TV show, “Dubai Bling,” which follows the glamorous lives of ten Dubai-based millionaires.

The show, which is set for release on Oct. 27, will feature a predominantly Arab cast and well-known faces from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait and Iraq as well as expats from India and Australia.

“Set against the backdrop of luxury cars, runway-fresh fashion, exotic resorts and exclusive access to the city’s most popular restaurants and late-night hotspots, we follow the cast in their daily lives,” Netflix said in a statement.

“It’s not long before the competition between friends heats up and secrets are revealed, causing problems, sassy clapbacks and a whole lot of drama.”

The docu-soap will feature ten episodes and be available on Netflix platforms across the world.

Over the past few years, Netflix has worked on increasing its library of Arabic films and TV shows by releasing original titles such as “Al-Rawabi School for Girls” and “Jinn.”

This is the second Arabic show that Netflix has announced this month, the first being the Kuwaiti show “The Cage,” which will be released on Friday.

Earlier this year, the streaming platform released an Arabic remake of “Perfect Strangers,” starring Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki, Egyptian star Mona Zaki, Eyad Nassar, as well as Georges Khabbaz, Adel Karam, Fouad Yammine and Diamand Bou Abboud.

“Dubai Bling” is the second reality TV show filmed in Dubai, the first being “The Real Housewives of Dubai,” which premiered last May. It was the 11th series of US cable network Bravo’s popular franchise.

The reality TV show stars six cast-members — British TV personality Caroline Stanbury, Kenyan model Chanel Ayan, US real estate director Caroline Brooks, Emirati businesswoman Sara Al-Madani, Jamaican fashion designer Lesa Milan and Lebanese-American entrepreneur Nina Ali.
