MADINAH: President of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih arrived in Madinah on Monday to visit the Prophet’s Mosque.
The president was received by Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman and a number of officials at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
Saudi Arabia and Maldives enjoy strong bilateral ties. Last month, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Maldives counterpart Abdulla Shahid at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
During the reception, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in all sectors.
They also discussed regional and international developments of common interest to the two nations.

Saudi FM discusses latest regional developments with several counterparts
RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed the latest developments in the region with his counterparts from Egypt, Russia, and Canada on Monday.
Efforts being made to maintain the security and stability of the region were also discussed in separate phone calls with Badr Abdelatty and Sergey Lavrov, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Prince Faisal and Anita Anand exchanged views on issues of common interest.
