Talkwalker appoints Tod Nielsen as global CEO

DUBAI: Consumer intelligence platform Talkwalker has appointed Tod Nielsen as CEO of the company. Nielsen will be taking over the reins from Robert Glaesener, who will continue to stay with Talkwalker as chairman of the board of directors.

Nielsen has been a part of the technology industry since the start of his career at Microsoft in the 1980s. He has held executive leadership roles at companies like BEA Systems, Oracle, VMware, Salesforce and, most recently, FinancialForce, where he served as CEO.

Nielsen is most excited by the Talkwalker platform because it “helps our customers get closer to their customers,” he said in a blog post.

His vision in the new position is to enable everyone — from marketing teams to product development teams — to put consumer intelligence at the heart of everything a company does.

“My vision is to see every brand become more customer-focused, for the good of the company, and the wider ecosystem,” he said.

Glaesener, who will oversee the transition, grew Talkwalker from a startup to a global business during his 10-year tenure. Today, the company has over 1,200 global clients, more than 400 employees and offices in Luxembourg, New York, San Francisco, Frankfurt, Singapore, Paris and Tokyo.
