During a meeting with King Abdullah in Washington, Yellen noted the challenges that Jordan faces, complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic and "underscored the broad partnership between the United States and Jordan" including efforts to combat the financing of Middle East terrorism, the Treasury said.

Son of Libya longtime ruler Qaddafi dead: reports
TRIPOLI: Seif Al-Islam Qaddafi, the son of Libya’s deposed longtime ruler, has died, Libyan media reported on Tuesday, without providing details on his death.
TV channel Al-Ahrar said people close to him confirmed his death “without revealing the circumstances,” while state news agency LANA cited his adviser, Abdallah Othman, as also confirming the death.
Seif Al-Islam had long been seen as his father’s successor. In 2021, he announced he would run for president, but those elections were indefinitely postponed.
