Pakistan successfully test-fires surface-to-surface ballistic missile

  • The military's media wing, ISPR, says Shaheen-1A has a range of 900 kilometers
  • The test was conducted to revalidate various design and technical parameters of the weapon system

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday conducted a successful flight test of its surface-to-surface ballistic missile Shaheen-1A which can destroy a target within a range of 900 kilometers, announced the military's media wing, ISPR, in an official statement.

"The test flight was aimed at re-validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system including advanced navigation system," the statement added.

 

 

The flight test was witnessed by Director General Strategic Plans Division (SPD) Lt. Gen. Nadeem Zaki along with Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali and other relevant officials.

The SPD director general congratulated scientists and engineers involved in the project for making the successful testing of the missile possible.

He appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of his team members.

Pakistan's president, prime minister and top military commanders also applauded everyone who made the successful conduct of the test possible.
