DUBAI: The UAE on Tuesday ticked another record high in daily coronavirus infections with 3,601 cases confirmed by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP).
Coronavirus cases in the country have now been climbing for 15 days in a row.
The country’s COVID-19 caseload is now at 285,147 with recoveries at 259,194, after 3,890 new patients recovered from the disease in the previous 24 hours.
Health authorities also announced seven fatalities due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 805, state news agency WAM reported.

The UAE aims to continue expanding its nationwide testing to facilitate early detection of coronavirus cases, and carry out the necessary treatment, which comes hand-in-hand with its massive vaccination campaign.
Saif Al-Dhaheri, spokesman for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, said the UAE ranked second globally in the distribution of daily doses during the past week.
The ministry said 106,589 people received the vaccine in the previous 24 hours and the total number of administered doses exceeded 2.677 million.
Three COVID-19 vaccines, those developed by Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech and the Russian-developed Sputnik V, are being made available to residents and citizens on efforts to inoculate 50 percent of the population by April.
Authorities also said the vaccine would be available to individuals from the age of 16, after lowering the minimum age requirement from 18.
Dubai Health Authority said it has stopped some medically unnecessary dental services and that all unnecessary elective surgeries had been canceled.

The Department of Social Services in Sharjah said it was carrying out 100 home visits per day to provide the vaccine to vulnerable members of society, and their families.
The campaign, which was launched on Jan. 14, saw 2,545 senior citizens and people with disabilities receive the vaccine.
During daily inspection tours, officials from Dubai Economy, said they issued fines to 14 businesses over failures to adhere to COVID-19 precautions.
Dubai Municipality announced it has intensified its inspection campaigns. It said four businesses were ordered to close, four were fined and warnings were issued to 24 for not complying with precautionary measures.

Dubai Tourism said it closed down five venues and issued fines to 15 others during from Jan. 16 — 23 for violating COVID-19 rules.
Ajman Medical District, in cooperation with MoHaP and Fatima College for Health Sciences, opened a new center in the college building to provide the vaccine to the public.
Elsewhere, Kuwait reported 505 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total in the country to 162,282. The death toll rose to 957 after three additional deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.

In Bahrain the death toll stands at 370 after one new death was reported. The number of confirmed cases in the country increased by 459.
