Saudi Arabia’s King Salman issues royal decrees

  • Housing ministry and Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs combine to form the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing
  • Fahad Al-Mubarak is appointed as governor of the Saudi Central Bank

LONDON: Saudi Arabia's King Salman issued various royal decrees on Sunday. 

They include the following: 

The Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs have been combined to form the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

Majid Al-Hogail is appointed as Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

Fahad Al-Mubarak is relieved from his Minister of State post and is appointed as governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

Ahmed Al-Khulaifi is relieved of his post as governor of the central bank and appointed as an advisor to the Royal Court with the rank of minister.

The Director General of Passports, Maj. Gen. Sulaiman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Yahya, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Saudi defense minister meets with Qatar emir

RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Doha on Wednesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar were reviewed and the latest regional developments and efforts to address them were discussed during the meeting. Topics of mutual interest were also spoken about.

Prince Khalid conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and their wishes of further progress and prosperity for the Qatari government and people.

In return, Sheikh Tamim sent his greetings and feelings of appreciation to the Saudi leadership.
