Saudi Arabia’s Formula E crowds wowed by performances from Imagine Dragons, Alan Walker and Clean Bandit

  • With a second of day of Formula E racing on Saturday, Friday night’s performers were met with an ecstatic crowd

RIYADH: After a day of action on the racetrack fans attending the Formula E race were treated to dazzling performances on the stage at the Diriyah Music Festival.

American rockers Imagine Dragons, DJ Alan Walker and dance band Clean Bandit made sure the party lasted well into the night after Britain’s Sam Bird won the opening round of the ABB Formula E Championship in Diriyah.

 

 

The concert and the races at the UNESCO World Heritage site on the edge of Riyadh is part of the Diriyah Season of international sports and entertainment events.

With a second of day of racing on Saturday, Friday night’s performers were met with an ecstatic crowd.

 

 

First up, British electronic music band Clean Bandit belted out a series of instantly recognizable hits followed by a set from Norwegian DJ Walker.

The biggest cheer of the night came when Imagine Dragons took to the stage.

Housing pacts worth $83m signed at Jood event

RIYADH: More than 2,500 families will be provided housing under agreements worth SR311 million ($83 million) signed recently, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

The deals were inked with nonprofit organizations in the presence of Municipalities and Housing Minister Majid Al-Hogail, under the Al-Jood Menna Wa Feena campaign, which is affiliated to the Jood Housing platform.

The event was aimed at strengthening partnerships with the nonprofit sector to support developmental housing, the SPA reported.

Al-Hogail said these partnerships contribute to initiatives that will ensure stability for eligible families.
