Crown Prince congratulates Trump for US killing of Daesh leader Al-Baghdadi

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman congratulated President Donald Trump in a phone call for the US’ success in killing Daesh leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, state news agency SPA reported on Tuesday.

The operation marked a new era and a historical step in the war against terrorism, the Crown Prince added.

President Trump in return said the productive cooperation between the US and Saudi Arabia was continuing with an aim to bring an end to terrorism.

US embassy in Riyadh attacked with drones: Saudi defense ministry

  • The embassy issued a shelter in place notice for Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam

RIYADH: US embassy in Riyadh was targeted by drones, resulting in a small fire and minor damage to the building,  Saudi Ministry of Defense said. 

US embassy in Riyadh was empty at the time of the strike, and no injuries were reported yet.

The embassy issued a shelter in place notice for Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.
