Saudi Arabia’s efforts are ‘stabilizing factor’ for Gulf, says senior EU parliamentarian

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s efforts to combat terrorism and promote sustainable development are important stabilizing factors in the Gulf region, Michele Alliot-Marie, chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the Arabian Peninsula, said.
Her comments came during a meeting in Brussels between Prince Khalid bin Abdullah, member of the Shoura Council, chairman of the Saudi-European Parliamentary Friendship Committee and chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the Arabian Peninsula.
During the meeting, the two sides reiterated the importance of strengthening relations between the Shoura Council and the European Parliament and coordinating on issues of common concern.
Prince Khalid also met with a member of the European Parliament, Mario Borghezio.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing parliamentary relations between the Shoura Council and the European Parliament, reflecting positively on the overall bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the EU.

Saudi crown prince congratulates new Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has sent his congratulations to Bangladesh’s new Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the country’s new government leaders.

The crown prince wished the people of the nation continued progress and prosperity, the Saudi Press Agency reported early on Wednesday.

Rahman, whose party won a landslide election victory recently, was sworn in as prime minister at the nation’s parliament on Tuesday.

Rahman, 60, is the son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and assassinated President Ziaur Rahman.
