Alalshikh: Saudi entertainment sector ‘needs investment’

  • The GEA aspires to develop, establish and organize a competitive infrastructure for entertainment by cooperating with government and private sectors

JEDDAH: Turki Alalshikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), on Wednesday called for entrepreneurs to invest in the sector.
The government aims to invest $64 billion in its entertainment industry over the coming decade, as the Kingdom pursues social and economic reforms.
Alalshikh also tweeted that the doors were open for ideas and projects, inviting local and national banks to meet him to fund initiatives.
The GEA aspires to develop, establish and organize a competitive infrastructure for entertainment by cooperating with government and private sectors.

Saudi deputy ministers receive Swedish ambassador and UNDP representative

Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Arabia’s deputy minister for political affairs, received Sweden’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Petra Menander in Riyadh. 

Separately, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Development Affairs Abdullah bin Zarah received the UN Development Programme’s resident representative in the Kingdom, Nahid Hussein, in Riyadh. 

During the meetings, all sides discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest, the foreign ministry said on X on Wednesday.
