Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan has been the president of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) since March 2018. 

NAUSS was established in 1980 in Riyadh. It is the scientific body of the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council, and was established as part of an Arab resolution to form the first Arab university specializing in graduate studies, research and training in all areas of security in its most comprehensive sense.

Al-Bunyan has recently visited Algeria and met Algerian Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh to look at security and justice developments in the country. They discussed the development of joint action between NAUSS and Algeria’s Ministry of Justice.

Al-Bunyan has a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia (2001), a master’s degree in blood transfusion and organ transplant from the University of Bristol, UK (2004), and a Ph.D. in blood transfusion in clinical medicine from the University of Oxford (2009).

His academic experience includes working at King Saud University as an assistant professor of hematology between 2009 and 2016, then as associate professor of hematology from 2016 till his recent appointment. 

He also worked as a supervisor of academic quality and the accreditation unit, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences between 2009 and 2010, and as full-time adviser for the Ministry of Higher Education in the department of private education.

Al-Bunyan received several awards throughout his academic career, such as the Margaret Kenwright Young Scientist Award from the British Blood Transfusion Society, the Dr. Harold Gunson Fellowship from the International Society of Blood Transfusion, and the SYSMEX Award for Best Scientific Research.

Saudi Arabia intercepts drone attack targeting Ras Tanura refinery: defense ministry 

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia intercepted a drone attack in targeting the Ras Tanura refinery, the defense ministry said Wednesday.

“Initial estimates indicate that the attack was carried out by a drone and did not result in any damage,” the ministry said in a statement posted on X.
