With this year’s monsoon season well underway, the Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah, owned by Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) and managed by InterContinental Hotels Group, is all set to welcome the annual Khareef season.
This year, the resort was named “Oman’s Leading Resort 2018” by the World Travel Awards.
Manuel Levonian, general manager of the resort, said: “We are optimistic that this Khareef season will be different compared to last year when Cyclone Mekunu hit the Dhofar region. Many people from across the globe are more curious and eager to find out about Salalah. Hence, we anticipate a high demand of accommodations from tourists and our tailor-made packages will address the immediate needs of our guests.”
“As Cyclone Mekunu struck Salalah in the last week of May that brought heavy rains and strong winds, we are blessed that there were no major damages in our resort. This allows us to recover fast from the aftermath and accommodate early inquiries and bookings of our Khareef packages. Due to heavy rainfall, most of the terrains and mountains have started to turn to lush green earlier than expected and the natural beauty has been enhanced by overflowing springs and waterfalls.” he added.
Monsoon is a great time to visit Salalah. Hundreds of GCC nationals and locals from the north of Oman flock to Salalah to escape the soaring summer temperature. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the annual Khareef Festival that features traditional folklore, dancing and fashion shows.
Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah is a well-recognized resort in the Dhofar region. The resort is set across 45 acres of private tropical gardens with its own stretch of pristine white sandy beach and offers 153 rooms, suites and family villas.
