Danube Online celebrates Saudi women on International Women’s Day

Danube Online, the largest e-commerce grocery platform in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, has revealed on the occasion of International Women’s Day that Saudi female millennials are powering the growth of e-commerce in the Kingdom. They constitute up to 60 percent of users on the grocery e-commerce platform.
The Danube app, which launched in 2017 and has quickly expanded operations across the Kingdom, also revealed young Saudi women are catalyzing a change in consumer behavior when it comes to grocery shopping, leveraging technology to acquire daily household necessities, with almost 50 percent of Danube Online’s repeat buyers falling into the female millennial catergory.
“Danube Online is at the forefront of e-commerce in the Kingdom by providing an online grocery shopping experience that is convenient, fast and easy with cutting-edge technology. We are delighted that the millennial female population in Saudi Arabia has been the fastest adopters of the Danube app and are driving the growth of e-commerce in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia is approaching a time in history, where more and more women are not only entering the workforce but assuming key leadership positions,” Majed M. Al-Tahan, co-founder and CEO, Danube Online.
He added: “We celebrate International Women’s Day with all of the women of Saudi Arabia and through Danube Online hope and wish to serve them in a small but meaningful way, having groceries delivered to their doors from easily shopping online at the click of a button.”
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8.
