DUBAI: For the first time, 12 Saudi women have begun training for jobs in air traffic control, national daily Saudi Gazette reported.
This is the first-time women are to be employed to work as air traffic controllers in the Kingdom, the report added.
Saudi Air Navigation Services CEO Ryyan Tarabzoni said the state-owned company was prioritizing the hiring of women in the profession, as the country pushes to extend women’s rights in the country and also recruit more nationals as part of the “Saudization” project.

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received on Thursday a written message from Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq concerning relations between their countries.
The message was received on behalf of the crown prince by Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khereiji during a meeting in Riyadh with Oman’s ambassador to the Kingdom Sayyid Najib bin Hilal bin Saud Al-Busaidi, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Saudi-Omani relations and ways to enhance them in various fields were reviewed during the meeting. Topics of common interest were also discussed.
