LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has provided emergency relief in besieged Eastern Ghouta in Syria.
The aid includes the operation of kitchens and the distribution of food baskets in the cities of Douma, Arbin, Harasta, Mesraba and other areas in Ghouta, Al-Ekhbariya reported.
The kitchens will provide 200,000 meals and will distribute 5633 food baskets among affected families in the enclave.
The aid program was launched last Tuesday when the first kitchen began operating in Douma whilst a second kitchen is being prepared for operation.
Distribution is currently limited to shelters because of the heavy shelling of civilians in eastern Ghouta.
