Saudi Coast Guard rescue 4 yachtsmen stranded off Asir coast

ABHA: The Border Guard Command’s search and rescue teams in Asir rescued four citizens from drowning after their boat crashed near Al-Qahmah, off the coast of Asir region.

The spokesman of the Border Guard Command in Asir, Capt. Khalid bin Ali Al-Mutairi, said that the Border Guard unit in Al-Qahmah received a report from an emergency center stating that a boat was stranded at sea with four men aboard.

“Search and rescue teams, and marine patrols were immediately sent to the accident location to save the stranded men, who were found in good health,” he added.

Al-Mutairi called on all citizens and residents to exercise caution when navigating away from the shore and to use the emergency number 994 to report any sea-related accidents.

JEDDAH: Jeddah Gov. Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi attended a ceremony in Jeddah on Sunday to mark Kuwait’s National Day.

Prince Saud was received by Kuwait’s Consul General Yousef Abdullah Al-Tunaib and other consulate officials, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Fareed bin Saad Al-Shehri, director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Makkah, and members of the diplomatic corps, were also in attendance.
