DUBAI: Palestinian-American model Gigi Hadid and British pop star Zayn Malik revealed that they spent the Eid Al-Adha holiday with none other than their mothers, in a snap shared on Instagram.
Yolanda Hadid, Gigi’s mother, shared the photo on her Instagram account and captioned it: “Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating.”
Malik, who hails from a British Pakistani family, has been open about his Islamic background.
“I’m not currently practicing but I was raised in the Islamic faith, so it will always be with me, and I identify a lot with the culture,” Malik told the London Evening Standard in June.
Gigi Hadid has been less vocal about her faith and her Palestinian-origin father Mohamed Hadid. However, her sister Bella has been open about being a Muslim.
“He was always religious, and he always prayed with us,” the younger Hadid sister previously told Porter magazine of her father. “I am proud to be a Muslim.”
