Boxer Amir Khan accuses wife of relationship with Anthony Joshua in Twitter exchange

LONDON: British boxer Amir Khan accused wife Faryal Makhdoom of cheating on him with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a series of explosive tweets posted while in Dubai.
The former Olympic star posted a series of tweets from the emirate on Friday announcing a split with his wife of three years.
Amir tweeted: “So me and the wife Faryal have agreed to split. I’m currently in Dubai. Wish her all the best.”

“Faryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer @anthonyfjoshua.”

Joshua responded to the tweet with a short clip of Shaggy’s smash hit: “It Wasn’t Me,” before later clarifying he had never met Faryal.
“Bantz (Banter) aside, I hope you guys can resolve your situation or this is a hack as we have never even met!” he tweeted.

The Khans got engaged in January 2012 and were married 16 months later. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lamaisah, into the world in May 2014.
However, it appears their four-year marriage is now at an end in the aftermath of Amir’s incendiary allegations that Faryal staunchly and swiftly denied on Friday.
The pair swapped a flurry of verbal punches on Twitter as Khan branded his wife a gold digger and she countered that he need to “man up.”

“LOL! I pay house bills and bills for my daughter myself! It’s like I’m a single mother while he’s out messing around. And he has the nerve to blast me like that?
“The amount of evidence I have on you. I can destroy you. But since I loved you at one point in my life, I’ll just let it go.
“I’m not the one who has been in the papers every month with my pants down. Cheater!
“You have actually lost it. Where do you make this stuff up from?
“At the end of the day, I can hold my head high knowing I’ve given this marriage 100% while Amir clearly hasn’t.”
“Bad company, bad role model, always around women, alcohol and then he calls himself a Muslim and runs a charity.
“I’m sorry to all the fans & family hurt by this. But Amir did not need to do stupid tweets accusing others when he’s in the wrong #guilty.”
Faryal later deleted the tweets.

Egypt’s grand museum begins live restoration of King Khufu’s ancient boat

CAIRO: Egypt began a public live restoration of King Khufu’s ancient solar boat at the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum on Tuesday, more than 4,000 years after the vessel was first built.
Egyptian conservators used a small crane to carefully lift a fragile, decayed plank into the Solar Boats Museum hall — the first of 1,650 wooden pieces that make up the ceremonial boat of the Old Kingdom pharaoh.
The 4,600-year-old boat was built during the reign of King Khufu, the pharaoh who also commissioned the Great Pyramid of Giza. The vessel was discovered in 1954 in a sealed pit near the pyramids, but its excavation did not begin until 2011 due to the fragile condition of the wood.
“You are witnessing today one of the most important restoration projects in the 21st century,” Egyptian Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy said.
“It is important for the museum, and it is important for humanity and the history and the heritage.”
The restoration will take place in full view of visitors to the Grand Egyptian Museum over the coming four years.
