Majlis by GOSSIP, the annual charity suhoor organized by GOSSIP The Brand, has raised significant funds for Emirates Red Crescent. The funds will go toward building a nursery for Syrian refugee children at the Emirates Red Crescent camps. The event took place on June 9 and was supported by government bodies and luxury brands from across the region.
Shayma Al-Fawwaz, founder and CEO of GOSSIP The Brand, said: “I would like to personally thank all our guests, who donated so generously and fully embraced the charitable values of Ramadan and the UAE’s Year of Giving 2017. As His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said, ‘The UAE is the country of goodness and the Emiratis are carrying forward the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan. When people speak about achievements, we are proud of following the humanitarian approach of the late Sheikh Zayed, and when people speak about their history, we speak about the history of the humanitarian achievements since the establishment of the country.’”
Fawwaz added: “Emirates Red Crescent is a vital charity and their support of our event is also hugely appreciated, as the funds will allow us to further an incredibly important cause — providing humanitarian education to empower and enable Syrian refugees. CSR is one of GOSSIP’s key pillars and we prioritize charity initiatives, so we are delighted to have been joined in this spirit at Majlis by GOSSIP.”
Guests at the event enjoyed a special suhoor menu designed by GOSSIP Cafe & Desserts, including a variety of gourmet savoury dishes and desserts, as well as a silent auction where a range of contemporary artworks was open for bidding.
All proceeds have been transferred directly to Emirates Red Crescent to help support its humanitarian work.
GOSSIP has raised funds for charities including Pink Caravan, Dubai Cares, Salam ya Saghar, The Big Heart Foundation and Emirates Red Crescent, fulfilling its promise to give back to the community and embody the charitable Emirati spirit.
