RIYADH: The Interior Ministry will present a workshop on its key digital transformation drives at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), scheduled Monday through Saturday in Geneva, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Among the services provided by the ministry is the Absher e-portal, which provides online services for Saudi citizens and expatriates.
The WSIS, which will be attended by information and communications decision-makers, aims to exchange ideas and experiences on knowledge-based economies, electronic preparedness and best practices in building human capacities in information and communication technology.
It will also shed light on how to achieve digital awareness and build confidence in using information technology.

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Palestinian prime minister, Mohammed Mustafa, on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in Gaza.
During their meeting, which took place at the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, they also reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Other Saudi officials present at the meeting included the Kingdom’s ambassador to Switzerland, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood; the director general of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Ismail; and Mohammed Alyahya, an advisor to the foreign minister.
