Shoura to discuss training programs, Saudi sports

RIYADH: The Shoura Council on Monday will discuss the annual report of the Management and Human Resources Committee.
The council also will discuss a report by the Health Committee on the facilities system and pharmaceuticals draft; a private health institutions system draft; and proposed amendments to the health professions practice system.
A government committee from the Institute of Public Administration is recommending the expansion of training programs at Saudi universities.
In addition, the council is expected to discuss a report of the Committee of Social Affairs, and Family and Youth from the General Authority of Sports.
The committee called in its recommendations to include subsidized figures sections in future reports to the reality and the development of sports in the society, including sport for women.
One of the topics on Monday’s agenda is a report from the Committee on Transport, Communications and Information Technology on the draft agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Togo on air transport services. The report includes topics on pilgrimage, housing, and services.
The council on Tuesday will discuss the report of the Committee of Islamic and Judicial Affairs from the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
The council, during the session, will also consider the report of the Committee of Culture, Information, and Tourism and Antiquities to add a penalty of defamation upon the perpetrators of offenses of the tourism system, in addition to the monuments and museums and architectural heritage system.

Saudi crown prince discusses regional military escalation with Iraqi PM

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed the military escalation in the region and its repercussions on security and stability with Iraq’s prime minister on Wednesday.

During a phone call with Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, the crown prince stressed the need to stop the attacks that pose a threat to regional and international peace and security, Saudi Press Agency reported.
