Poachers must be condemned

This refers to the story “Poachers poison, mutilate lions in South Africa” (Jan. 29). Imagine one reading a newspaper on a pleasant morning and suddenly a story about the violent hunting of animals appears. Such news certainly destroys those lovely moments.
It was like that when I read the heartbreaking report of the recent violence committed by South African poachers.
According to police, an investigation was launched after several lions were found dead. They said: “Two male lions had their heads and paws cut off and taken away.”
These tragedies remind us of Cecil, the much-beloved lion killed by a US citizen along with his African friend.
Such acts cannot be justified in any way. No religion or human-made laws permit such crime. I request the international community, especially the South African authorities, to take all measures to bring these criminals to justice.
