Saudi area phone codes now in effect

The Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said it implemented the second phase of changing area codes on Sunday.
The changed area codes added ‘1’ after the first ‘0’. Makkah changed to 012, Madinah to 014, Eastern Province to 013, Qassim to 016 and the Southern region to 017.
The old codes will be active along with the new ones for four weeks effective Sunday, after which they will be deactivated. The first phase of the implementation of the new area codes included Riyadh province. Its 01 code was changed to 011 last May.
According to CITC, when dialing from mobiles to fixed lines, the new digit will have to be added.

Saudi King Salman receives message from Russian president

  • The two officials reviewed strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia

RIYADH: King Salman received a written message from Russian President Vladmir Putin regarding ties between the two countries.

Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergey Kozlov delivered the message to Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji in Riyadh, the Foreign Ministry wrote in a post on X on Tuesday. 

The two officials reviewed strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia and discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as the efforts made in this regard.
