MDLBEAST launches music publishing arm

  • MDLBEAST Publishing will help artists in areas such as broadcasting rights, intellectual property management, and financial rights
  • Initiative completes company’s range of services for creative community, COO says

LONDON: Saudi music entertainment company MDLBEAST announced the launch of a new music publishing arm on Tuesday, marking a significant expansion in the regional music industry.

MDLBEAST Publishing will support songwriters, producers, and artists across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and North Africa, providing a range of services in areas such as broadcasting rights, intellectual property management, and financial rights for creators.

Talal Albahiti, MDLBEAST’s COO and head of music, described the initiative as a “pioneering and unique model in the music publishing sector” for both the Kingdom and the broader region.

“With the recent launch of MDLBEAST FM Radio, our music brand partnerships team, and the recording studios at Beast House in Jax, we now offer a comprehensive range of services to meet the commercial development needs of the creative community, artists, music producers, and songwriters,” he said.

MDLBEAST said it will collaborate closely with local, regional, and global music rights organizations, including Sentric, a British independent music publisher specializing in emerging artists.

The partnership will address challenges related to music broadcast, performance, and the representation of authors’ rights, ensuring global representation for creators and rightful earnings through royalties for reproduction, printing, performance, and broadcasting rights.

As the Arabic music industry continues to expand, MDLBEAST said the new initiative will also help to increase the commercial appeal and discoverability of its catalog, which includes 300 master rights.

The company, which has already secured sync placements with high-profile networks and partners such as Netflix, Spotify, and MBC, said that its new venture will provide an opportunity to bring “its eclectic catalog to the global network of music supervisors” in an effort to “forge a pathway to the discovery of Middle Eastern and North African sounds.”

MDLBEAST Publishing builds on similar initiatives aimed at growing the local music market and supporting a new generation of talent.

In 2023, the company launched a writing and production camps program to support homegrown artists through a mix of workshops and private sessions with industry professionals.

The program, which has been highly successful, has benefited 20 artists to date, including some of the Kingdom’s highest-profile electronic music artists, such as Cosmicat, Jeme, Vigion, LeSad, Malkin, Emad, and Dish Dash. The program is set to continue this year.

SRMG showcases proxy AI leadership, wins digital excellence honor at Salesforce Innovation Day

  • Chief Technology Officer stresses that AI and automation do not replace the human element, but rather contribute to expanding the scope of creativity across operations
  • SRMG received the “Go Live” award in recognition of its digital transformation in the sales sector supported by Salesforce technologies

RIYADH: The Salesforce Innovation Day event in Riyadh saw SRMG Group’s prominent participation during a panel discussion titled “Proxy Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Media,” which addressed the role of emerging technologies in reshaping the content industry, enhancing audience engagement, and redefining the role of human creativity in a data-driven world.
During the session, Hani Abu-Shadi, Chief Technology Officer at SRMG, presented future insights on how AI will contribute to reshaping the media experience by 2030.
Abu Shadi said: “By 2030, the public will not just receive information — they will expect the media to understand, inspire, and engage them in the experience. They will move from consuming content to co-creating it. With proxy AI, experiences will become highly personalized — delivered intelligently and instantly to each individual. But as AI enters the creative process, people will demand transparency: to know what is human-made, what is AI-produced, and how integrity is maintained. In short, audiences will expect intelligence and originality together.”
Abu Shadi stressed that artificial intelligence and automation do not replace the human element, but rather contribute to expanding the scope of creativity across SRMG’s operations.
He added: “AI will take over repetitive and analytical tasks — while journalists, producers, and editors focus on storytelling, creativity, and human insight. We’re already seeing the emergence of hybrid new roles—such as AI editors, content engineers, and lead designers—working alongside traditional newsroom talent.

“The real transformation is cultural: teaching teams to see AI as a creative partner, not a threat.”

Speaking about the future of the media experience, Abu Shadi explained that the audience will seamlessly move between physical, digital, and rich (immersive) experiences, supported by proxy AI that understands the user's intentions and context.
He said: “For us at SRMG, the future of experience is not just about technology, but about meaning and communication. It's about blending immersive storytelling with credibility and cultural relevance — elements that build true trust and loyalty.”
Besides leading the conversation on media innovation, SRMG also received the “Go Live” award in recognition of its digital transformation in the sales sector supported by Salesforce technologies. The award celebrates the Group’s success in modernizing sales processes through advanced digital tools that enhance customer engagement, operational agility, and data-driven decision-making.
Abu Shadi concluded the session by affirming his vision for the future of the media: “The next decade in the media world will belong to those who can combine creativity, data and intelligence into one rhythm. At SRMG, we believe that proxy AI doesn't replace content creators — it expands their horizons. The future is not man or machine — man and machine together, creating and creating the experience side by side.”
These achievements reflect SRMG’s continued leadership in combining technology and creativity to deliver impactful content, and underscore its commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030 by contributing to building a smart, humane media future that focuses on experience and meaning.
