September 14 – Modern Ghana states that a young Pakistani and Singaporean have been adjudged Senior and Junior winners of the 2018 Queens Commonwealth Essay Competition. Zahra Hussain, 17, was selected as the Senior Winner of the competition, with Janine Shum, 13, picking the award for the junior category. The two emerged winners out of over 12,000 entries from across the five regions of the Commonwealth in the 2018 edition.
