July 17: The News report by Faisal Kamal Pasha states that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar have challenged their conviction in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). On Monday, they filed their appeals in IHC, seeking to set aside the accountability court (AC) judgment that awarded 11 years imprisonment to Nawaz, eight years to Maryam and one year to Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield Apartments corruption reference.

Two more cops on polio duty martyred in Bannu
January 10: The Express Tribune reported At least two policemen deployed for polio duty in the Teri Ram area of Bannu district were martyred while three others injured during a gunfight with unidentified armed men on Tuesday.
