July 11: The Sydney Morning Herald report by Aditi Prakash states that Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has tested positive for a banned substance and will be charged later on Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said. The PCB announced in June that a player had failed a doping test but refused to reveal the name of the team member or the charges they faced until a chemical report was completed, as per the International Cricket Council's (ICC) regulations.

December 12 – Asharq Al-Awsat states that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at Al-Yamamah Palace President Dr. Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. President Alvi arrived in Riyadh Wednesday and was received at King Khalid Airport, by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and number of officials.
