July 11: The Sydney Morning Herald report by Aditi Prakash states that Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has tested positive for a banned substance and will be charged later on Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said. The PCB announced in June that a player had failed a doping test but refused to reveal the name of the team member or the charges they faced until a chemical report was completed, as per the International Cricket Council's (ICC) regulations.
The Washington Post: Gunmen kill 4 pro-government militiamen in Pakistan
September 23 – The Washington Post states that a Pakistani official says gunmen have attacked the base camp of a pro-government militia, killing four of its members. Assistant Administrator Ali Mohammad says the attack occurred early Sunday in the Dasht-e-Goran area of Baluchistan. The southwestern province is home to a low-level separatist movement and Islamic extremist groups.
